The first visit does not need a form
An anonymous card lets customers start collecting points without an email or password. Explain in one sentence how to earn and redeem rewards. Keeping it simple makes it easier for staff to offer the programme, even during a busy service.
A card identifies activity, not necessarily a person
An identifier links visits and credit. It does not guarantee the same person always uses the card. Avoid treating card counts as an exact measure of unique people. When adding contact information, explain its purpose and record consent where required.
Turn data into small decisions
Identify cards with repeat visits, unused credit or a long gap in activity. These groups call for different actions: a reminder about a nearby reward differs from welcoming back someone who has been away for months. Commercial messages require an appropriate legal basis.
Separate purchased credit from a bonus
When a customer hands over €50 and receives €5 extra, record both amounts separately. Explain where the credit can be spent and the promotion’s conditions. The business receives the money; CashFirst records the programme. Staff can then explain every transaction clearly.
